Blotched Beaches of Life

How many  BP experts does it take to stop an oil leak?  Apparently, one more than they have now.  Everyone seems to be looking to someone to fix this mess, yet it remains unfixed.  Yes, as the oil continues leaking,  the news stories of the catastrophe continue flowing, and tempers continue flaring over the bungled attempts to correct it.  I am sure it is frustrating for those along the coastline to watch the beautiful beaches around which they have built their lives becoming blotched with black blobs of oil.  Walking alone down a desecrated beach must be devastating.

As I looked at pictures of blotched beaches I thought of the bungled blotches in my own life. My life definitely hasn't been a beach, perhaps a blotched one, but not a beautiful one. There have been a lot of frustrating catastrophes, but I, as well as many of you, have survived and continued on.  A lot of the bungled events in my life have come because of my own mistakes, but there have been some that I had no control over whatsoever.  No matter how I  tried to fix them, I  found I couldn't do it on my own.

There have been many so-called experts, some meaning well, who have given their expert advice as to what I should do to stop the flow of misery, but apparently, their expertise wasn't what I needed at the time. I have been frustrated, hurt, and sometimes plain ole mad at how some things seem to remain unfixable in my life.

As I said, my life has not been perfect, but thankfully I did find hope in Christ.  I know a day is coming when all will be well forevermore.  During times of frustration and chaos now I simply remember that perfect day will come. I have found a great calm and peace that only Jesus can give.  God is with me in bad times watching over me, singing over me, guarding me against all evil.

Don't allow  black blotches to take all your joy.  Remember who you are in Christ. Remember the perfect life He has promised to those who love Him and keep His commandments.   Someday everything will be clean and a purer white than we could ever imagine. Until then may we all find hope in Christ who walks with us always. We are never alone.

Psalm 121

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth. 3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. 4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. 5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. 6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. 7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. 8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.
